The UKPDS Study proved that diabetes control does make a difference in Type 2
Type 2 patients can lower their blood sugar and glycohemoglobin
Control of both blood sugar and blood pressure are helpful
but . . . Frequently the initial control deteriorates, requiring adding other medications to obtain continuing control
