I have type 2 diabetes along with a burning, sensitive feeling in my upper thigh. What can this be? What causes this?Answer
Burning pain anywhere suggests that a nerve is irritated or inflamed. One cause for this is diabetes, but the upper thigh is not a common site for diabetic neuropathy in my experience.You don't say whether the burning feeling is at the front or the back of the thigh. If it's at the back of the thigh then it's highly likely to be originating in the lower back. If it's in the front of the thigh, it could be from the back or perhaps due to a local nerve irritation around the hip. The most likely cause of the latter is a condition called Meralgia paraesthetica. You can search Google to see if the description fits with your symptoms.
