    • March 28, 2009    Søren Lilleøre, a Danish man with type 1 diabetes, is participating in one of the toughest runs in the world: the Marathon Des Sables. Each day for six days, the participants complete a marathon in the searing heat of the Sahara desert, carrying backpacks weighing 14 kg. [See Running with Diabetes.]

    • March 21, 2009    A major international study pinpoints which people with major heart artery blockages would be better off having bypass surgery than artery-opening angioplasty: bypass surgery is preferable for people with diabetes and older patients.
