A breakthrough in stem cell research was announced last week in a paper in the journal Science where researchers from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the US and other colleagues reported how they reprogrammed human skin cells to behave like embryonic stem cells.

A "personal trainer" can enhance an adolescent's motivation and capability
of managing diabetes, according to recently-published research.
The facilitators were called "personal trainers" to "emphasize the development of strengths rather than the amelioration of deficits," the researchers explained.

A long-acting diabetes drug
allows diabetes patients to control their blood sugar levels better than currently approved drugs, according to results from a phase III study.
The drug, Byetta LAR, is given as a once-weekly injection.
