    • November 26, 2007    A breakthrough in stem cell research was announced last week in a paper in the journal Science where researchers from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the US and other colleagues reported how they reprogrammed human skin cells to behave like embryonic stem cells.     • November 14, 2007    The FDA issued a notice today regarding new information which will be added to the existing boxed warning for Avandia about potential increased risks for heart attacks.     • November 9, 2007    After dusk on November 14, World Diabetes Day, 120 landmarks like the Empire State Building in New York, Sears Tower in Chicago, Prudential Tower in Boston, Los Angeles Airport in Los Angeles, the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Indianapolis, the Four Freedoms Monument in Evansville, San Francisco City Hall and Coit Tower in San Francisco, Qwest Stadium in Seattle and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield will be lit in blue.     • November 3, 2007    A "personal trainer" can enhance an adolescent's motivation and capability of managing diabetes, according to recently-published research. The facilitators were called "personal trainers" to "emphasize the development of strengths rather than the amelioration of deficits," the researchers explained.     • November 1, 2007    A long-acting diabetes drug allows diabetes patients to control their blood sugar levels better than currently approved drugs, according to results from a phase III study.
