Question

From a physician: Is anyone aware of any islet cell or pancreatic transplant protocols willing to accept a teenager? A poorly compliant, immature, non-adherent teen with divorcing parents?

Answer

I might recommend contacting the NIH and/or JDRF. They ought to have a good idea of the protocols they are funding and who might be able to "accept" this case. My personal opinion is that this is not an appropriate candidate for such, given all of the other psychosocial circumstances surrounding this case.
