Question

I am looking for information on how companies can should advise their employees you have diabetes about disposal of self testing strips. If you have any guidelines, I would certainly appreciate it.

Answer

Presence of bloood on the strips themselves would have a very remote risk of an transmitting infectious organism compared to the risk from accidental needlesticks. For needlestick information, please see at-home safe needle disposal: what do I tell my patients? and at-home safe needle disposal for some thoughts.

If you have further questions I suggest you contact the folks at the Coalition for Safe Community Needle Disposal.
