Question
I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes and have been searching with
futility for a website with a big list of foods to avoid. I was wondering
about potato chips. I realize they are "junk food", and some sites have
said to avoid junk food. I wish they would be more specific, and there was
a big list somewhere of foods to avoid.
Am I the only one to request such a thing? Seems like a no-brainer.
Answer
There's no such thing as "foods to avoid." There are healthier choices and
not-so-healthy choices. A Registered Dietitian
who is a Certified Diabetes Educator
(R.D./C.D.E.) will work out a meal plan that incorporates all
foods that you enjoy eating, in the right amounts and with the right
frequency for you.
I suggest you make an appointment to see one.
