Question

I will be moving to the USA next month, and I've heard that you now have insulin which can be taken in an inhaler form. How much will it cost to purchase? Where can I obtain this from?

Answer

From what information is publicly available, it appears that the Exubera brand of inhaled insulin will be available in the US in mid-summer 2006, and probably will be priced about 3-4 times higher than injectable insulin.

It should be available at most pharmacies (with a doctor's prescription). It's unclear if insurance companies will pay for it.

It's unclear to me when it will be available in the EU, nor what the pricing there might be.
