Question

My doctor prescribed Byetta for weight reduction, and I have lost 22 pounds in about five weeks. I have found that I only have to take one 5 mcg shot per day, and I don't get hungry at all. I have experienced a very little tendency toward nausea. I haven't started exercising but plan to soon, and it is easy for me to keep under 1000 calories per day. I have experienced a very little tendency toward nausea. Is it wise to skip shots?

Answer

If you don't have diabetes (as it seems from your question), this is an off-label use for Byetta, and there are no data to help guide you with answering your questions. You should discuss these concerns with your physician.
