Question

People with type 1 diabetes have been waiting a long time for something that is noninvasive. When will Exubera (inhaled insulin) be available to the general population?

Answer

Exubera is the first inhaled insulin to undergo regulatory review, in both the US and in Europe. Some financial analysts seem to think that it might be approved and on the market in 2006. Whether it will be approved for type 1 or type 2 diabetes or both is unknown at this time.
